Diane Gerrard

Essentially my work is about trying to capture a sense of the changes, or distortion, that time can have on remembrance. I start from figurative imagery, but am fascinated with the notion that these images are being fixed in time while the objects or people represented will continue changing, decaying.

Drawing is fundamental to producing my work and my process simply is make, destroy and remake, using a combination of observation and imagination. I will start with making an image of something that intrigues me, then let the materials take their own course and my imagination come into play.
